Music for All is a creative learning initiative that aims to share the joy of orchestral music with children in schools across the UK, and, through Aurora Orchestra’s innovative ‘Orchestral Theatre’ concerts, reach new audiences of all ages.  The initiative brings the orchestra into the heart of primary schools across the UK through its unique learning resource programme, Aurora Classroom.  The programme includes imaginative activities to support the primary music curriculum.  With every project, Aurora helps teachers grow their practice and embed music in their school for the future through expert-led teach training sessions.

The Signatur Programme supported three newly created music initiatives as part of Bradford City of Culture’s 2025 learning programme: Sing, Dance, Leap, Bradford Bassline and Bradford Progress.  The large-scale projects were created in collaboration with Bradford’s children and young people, Bradford musicians and artists, cultural organisations, and national and international partners.  All projects shared an ambition to ignite young people’s creativity, celebrate Bradford and its history, and support the development of the local creative sector and Bradford’s creative communities, celebrating the artistic and cultural diversity across the city.

Caritas Bakhita House offers emergency support for female victims of modern slavery and human trafficking, providing them with the safety and support they need to begin the process of recovery and rehabilitation. With support from the Signatur Programme, the House’s Music Therapy service offers a creative, non-verbal and trauma-informed approach to emotional recovery.

The Signatur Programme awarded the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic a grant to support the expansion of In Harmony, their long-term orchestral music-making programme with communities in Liverpool.  A network of In Harmony Youth Hubs will provide In Harmony’s young people with access to a musical community outside their school environment, ensuring they have a safe space to practice and hone their instrument skills, experiment and create new music, and learn more about music industry careers.

London Music Fund’s mission is to transform underserved communities by enabling children to access high-quality music education and related activities.  With support from the Signatur Programme, London Music Fund’s Partnership Fund awards funding to London borough music education hubs to implement ambitious music initiatives across a diverse range of genres.  Young people and adults aged for 7-18 years are given opportunities to perform alongside professional musicians in iconic venues.

Composition Challenges was developed as a digital-only project during the pandemic and evolved into a digital and live experience that aims to transform the culture of music-making in schools.  Schoolchildren are invited to learn about the works of different composers and create new compositions inspired by their work.  The programme aims to ignite the creativity and imagination of schoolchildren, inspiring them to get involved in music and composition and demystifying the composition process, making it accessible to all.

Music Masters, in partnership with Birmingham City University, delivers the Musicians of Change (PGCEi) programme for musicians committed to transforming music education.  The programme focuses on nurturing and building music educators’ ability to teach excellent, inclusive group instrumental lessons to young people in primary, secondary and community settings across the UK.

Music of Life is a specialist charity, established in 2003, that supports the development and well-being of children and young people with disabilities and special needs through providing high-quality music-making opportunities.  With support from the Signatur Programme, the organisation delivers the Choirs in Special Needs Schools initiative, launching and leading over 10 choirs in special needs schools across Cambridge, Warwickshire and Birmingham for children with complex mental, physical, learning and emotional needs.

The Signatur Programme is supporting a new initiative that brings together the National Youth Orchestra and Onside Youth Zones in Barking, Wigan and Wolverhampton for an innovative partnership which will harness the transformative power of collective music-making.  A three-year programme of youth collaboration with Onside Youth Zone aims to expand the musical, creative and social horizons of young people, providing access to creative experiences, while developing their skills and confidence.  The partnership aims to foster cross-cultural understanding, bringing together young people from diverse social and musical backgrounds to share and explore their creativity.

Nordoff Robbins deliver to a range of clients across the UK, including some of the most vulnerable people in our society.  The Signatur Programme has awarded a three-year grant to support the charity and their partnership work with Islington MIND in North London and Creative Living in Bury, Manchester.  The ambition is to deliver over 900 one-to-one and group music therapy sessions, which will benefit over 200 adults living with mental health conditions.

ORA Singers’ Young Composers’ Scheme offers targeted support to aspiring young composers from non-fee-paying schools and was created to address declining music tuition in the education system.  Each year, ORA recruits 50 students aged 11-18 years from across the UK who receive free compositional tutoring and mentoring from a panel of industry-leading composers.

With support from the Signatur Programme, the Royal Academy of Music launched a new Junior Academy Musical Theatre programme in September 2022.  This ambitious initiative helps young performers aged 13-18 years develop their skills, confidence and passion for acting, singing and performing.  The programme provides bursaries to ensure that children from all backgrounds can access up to five years of profession standard musical theatre training, preparing them for entry into a premier UK drama school or other pathway towards a career in musical theatre.

The Signatur Programme is a supporter of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s LEAP programme, a suite of learning, education and participation activities delivered in partnership with a range of organisations, charities and educational institutions, all of whom share the same passion for engaging young people and families from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds across the UK.  The programme empowers young people who have no access to music provision that can support them to embark on or continue their musical journey.  LEAP’s work aims to help young people express their emotions and increase their self-confidence through music.

The Signatur Programme supported RNCM’s Young Artists programme during 2024/25, and in 2025, has deepened that partnership with a renewed three year commitment.  The programme trains and supports pop musicians aged 11-18 years across North West England.  Young Artists work in bands, creating, recording and distributing original music and sharing their work in informal, friendly gigs and showcases.  The programme provides young people with life-changing opportunities to explore their talent and achieve their potential, making music training from the very best artists accessible to all.

The Signatur Programme supported the Royal Ballet and Opera (RBO) Sing, Dance, Leap initiative, a collaboration with Opera North and Northern Ballet for the Bradford City of Culture 2025.   The project connected local, national and international artists who co-created the initiative with 2,000 young people across Bradford, celebrating their local heritage and stories through dance, performance and singing.  The project’s grand finale was a spectacular mass-participation performance in June 2025, which formed the centrepiece of Bradford City of Culture 2025 celebrations.

The Signatur Programme awarded a grant to the Sound Connections Progression Pathways programme which supports a diverse community of young creatives with music industry training, bursaries, mentoring and paid work experience.  Throughout the programme, young aspiring creatives have opportunities to gain music industry experience both on and off stage, with all activities co-produced by young people with support from Sound Connections’ staff and music industry mentors and professionals.

The Signatur Programme supports the Southbank Centre with their Youth Singing programme which provides children and young people in Lambeth and across London with opportunities to enjoy transformative experiences of musical participation.  Launched in 2021 to engage children and young adults, the programme seeks to address entrenched barriers which prevent young people from accessing high-quality music provision.  The programme engages young people from across London who have limited or no access to music education programmes with dynamic, inspiring and inclusive singing activities.

The Glasshouse International Centre for Music is a leading cultural organisation in the Northeast of England, dedicated to ensuring that music is part of everyday life for people of all ages and backgrounds. Through world class performance, education, and community programmes, The Glasshouse works to remove barriers to access, nurture talent, and create pathways for people to develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong relationship with music.Our current support is focused on enabling artist led learning opportunities that help children and young people across the Northeast develop skills, confidence, and ambition through music.

The Music Works is a youth-led, diverse and inclusive charity that uses music as a vehicle to transform the lives of young people from challenging circumstances and/or who are underrepresented in the creative sector.  The Signatur Programme supports The Drop, an open-access programme that provides a safe creative space for 600 young people per year, empowering them to begin or progress their music-making journey, make friends and build social connections and community.

Young Sounds UK aims to support talented young people from low-income families so that they can continue to learn a musical instrument, after receiving initial state-funded lessons, playing music into their teens and beyond to fulfil their musical potential.  The Signatur Programme is a long-term supporter of Furthering Talent, which expanded and rebranded as the Connect programme.  The Connect initiative received funding from the Department for Education in 2024, enabling the programme’s introduction into new areas of the UK.

Youth Music’s Rescue the Roots campaign aims to raise £1m to inject much-needed financial support into the UK’s grassroots music scene and the community organisations that support young people and their musical ambitions.  Through the Signatur Programme’s co-investment, grassroots music organisations across the country will have the financial support they need to continue to deliver youth-led music projects.
